Hilary Mauch,
Ironman U Certified, Training Peaks Level 2 Accredited
My journey into endurance sports began in 2009, but it was in 2012 that triathlon truly took hold. What started as a personal goal to complete an IRONMAN quickly became a deeper lesson in patience, pacing, and learning how to finish strong, not just start fast.
At the time, I believed I would be a one-and-done athlete. Instead, finishing that first race opened the door to what I was capable of. Since then, I’ve completed more than 20 triathlon events ranging from sprint distance to full IRONMAN, including 10 IRONMAN 70.3 races and 9 IRONMAN finishes.
Each one reinforced the same truth: finishing changes you.
Along the way, I learned that successful endurance racing isn’t built on swim, bike, and run alone. It’s shaped by consistency, balance, and an understanding of how training fits into real life. Those lessons are what ultimately led me to coaching.
I’m a certified Ironman U coach and have spent the last three years coaching athletes toward their own bucket-list finish lines. I’ve coached more than 20 athletes to over 50 race finishes, including podiums and world championship appearances. I’m also proud to serve as an ambassador for the Las Vegas Triathlon Club, supporting athletes within our local endurance community.
Outside of coaching, I’m an ER and trauma-trained nurse with a master’s degree focused on leadership. I’m data-driven, detail-oriented, and trained to recognize patterns and trends - skills that translate directly into knowing when an athlete is progressing well and when adjustments are needed. I understand long hours, shifting schedules, and the physical and mental demands of high-stress careers, because I live that reality myself.
I’m married, a cat mom to two, and I value balance just as much as ambition. When I’m not training or coaching, you’ll usually find me traveling, especially on a cruise ship, reading, or listening to music.
My goal is simple: to help athletes build the confidence, preparation, and mindset needed to cross the finish line feeling strong, proud, and fulfilled.
If completing a 70.3 or 140.6 is on your bucket list, I’d be honored to help guide you there.
